Christ Died For Our Sins

If you type "died for our sins" as a phrase in Google the following names currently top the list:
  • Abbie Hoffman
  • Custer
  • Moe Howard
  • Lenny Bruce
  • James Bond
  • Christ
This is because Google ranks the findings based on how many people have linked to that site, and the Abbie Hoffman site is the most popular. A Google search therefore brings up the most popular answer, but not necessarily the correct answer. It's a bit disconcerting that anyone searching for this phrase will not get the correct answer, at least right away. Too bad we can't do anything about it. Or can we?

A Google Bomb is where a group of people link to one page in order to force Google to put that page on top. It works. I challenge anyone who believes Christ should be at the top of this list to create a link to this blog entry. That way anyone who reads about the "died for our sins" list from another site will try it out and find that Christ has moved to the number one spot.

I don't know if Christ, who is the Alpha and Omega, is last in the Google listings, but I'd like to be sure he's first.

What made me laugh today...

Q: Why don't government workers look out the window in the morning?
A: Because then they'd have nothing to do in the afternoon.
