Rasterbator

Despite the goofy name, this is an interesting service. You go to the website and submit an image, along with your size preferences. They then send you a rasterized version in Acrobat (.pdf) format. The file will print out to several pages which you can assemble to form a single huge poster.

If you prefer to do it yourself, you can go here to download the software. It's not as user-friendly as the web-based version, but will still get the job done.
