Mondegreens

A mondegreen is a series of words that you mistakenly hear as another series ofwords (Isle of Ewe instead of I Love You). Snopes has an article on Christmas carol mondegreens that they have had submitted. Some of my favorites:

• Joy to the world! The Lord has gum!
• Round John Virgin, margarine child; Holy imbecile, tender and mild.
• Chipmunks roasting on an open fire.
• Good King Wences' car backed out On the feet of heathens.
