Happy Festivus!
The Roman comic poet Plautus used the word Festivus to name the wild celebrations attended by common folk back in the third century B.C. But it was the "Seinfeld" episode that made it a popular event today. The Festivus website has lots of info on the current goings on. While we don't have an aluminum pole set up, we'll try to take part in the latest traditions. Lynne will air some grievances, and then the boys and I will wrestle until they pin me down.
As an aside, a couple of years ago we made up some plaques for Lynne to sell at a local winter craft sale. We included a Happy Festivus plaque with a tiny aluminum pole. It didn't sell.
What made me laugh today...
