Are You Tone Deaf?

Go to this web site and follow the instructions to take a test consisting of 36 questions. They will play a musical phrase, and then another. You have to tell whether the two are the same or different. The test's creator claims that the test is purposefully made very hard, so excellent musicians rarely score above 80% correct.

My score was 86.1%. How did you do?

Crayons

Diem Chau creates art using crayons and pencils - carving them, not drawing with them. Each piece tells a story. From her web site:

I’ve spent countless hours gathering memories and pieces of different cultures by listening to incredible stories. I waited with childlike anticipation and delight on each storyteller’s words. I believe it’s my time to be the storyteller and to evoke the same delight and anticipation from my audience. Each story is a journey that gives us greater understanding of our past and our culture. Each story is a thread that connects us to each other, the storyteller holding one end and the audience the other.

Mathematical Devotions

Professor Robbert at Trinity Christian College has written a number of mathematical reflections on God. Sections include single-variable calculus, differential equations and statistics. Pretty thrilling stuff.

Or not.

A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet and says, "My dog is cross-eyed. Is there anything you can do for him?" The vet says, "Well, let's have a look at him." So the vet picks the dog up while examining his eyes. Finally he says "I'm going to have to put him down." "What? Just because he's cross-eyed?" "No, because he's really, really heavy."

The Bible is on sale at Amazon.com. Nothing surprising about that, but the reviews at the bottom are a bit different.
