Whalley Range All Stars

The Whalley Range All Stars are a performance troupe performing in the UK and abroad. One of their kids shows is performed inside a thirty foot inflatable pig. In order to view the ten minute show audiences must put on a little piglet tail and poke their heads into the viewing portals -- in the belly of the pig.

James Sooy came up with an interesting body modification -- he pierced the bridge of his nose and then made some eyeglasses that hung off the barbell. He describes the whole process here, along with lots of pictures.

Musipedia

Musipedia is inspired by, but not affiliated with Wikipedia. They are building a searchable, editable, and expandable collection of tunes, melodies, and musical themes.

Every entry can be edited by anybody. An entry can contain a bit of sheet music, a MIDI file, textual information about the work and the composer, or a rough description of the melodic contour.

The best part is the search engine. You can find and identify a tune even if the melody is all you know. You can play it on a piano keyboard, whistle or sing it to the computer, simply tap the rhythm on the computer keyboard or use the Parsons code.

Grand Illusions is a site for the enquiring mind. There are fascinating toys in the Toy Collection, all with video clips to show them in action, and a unique collection of toys you can buy in the Toy Shop.
